The company has no plans to reintroduce the section, at this point. The decision is being applauded by lawmakers in the US who pushed hard for Craigslist to abandon the adult services section in the wake of high profile crimes that involved people making contact through Craigslist. Craigslist has decided to remove all of its adult services sections from its websites and online properties around the world.

But the hard reality is that such organizations and government agencies would have been better served to find legal ways of monitoring Craigslist to help track and identify predators and other criminals who used Craigslist as their hub. This would appear to be a victory for those whose jobs it is to prevent and reduce sex crimes and human trafficking around the world, at first glance.

Everything becomes that much harder to track and identify now that a major central hub has been taken away, basically. Probably spread over several domains and nations, the same people who used Craigslist as their easy means of finding and attracting prey will now turn to other sites, as it stands.

It's certainly going to do just fine without it. The company doesn't need to be catching the kind of heat that it received in recent months as a result of the adult services section. If not an enjoyable one from a financial perspective, this had to be a fairly easy decision, but from Craigslist's standpoint.
